PlayStation Plus Drops Five Free Games for December 2025

Sony Interactive Entertainment has unveiled an impressive lineup of five free games for PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers this December, capping off 2025 with a diverse mix of Co-op shooters, horror thrills, and high-speed action. The monthly games will be available to all PS Plus members starting December 2 and will be claimable until January 5, 2026.

Announced via the official PlayStation Blog on November 26, this bumper selection breaks from the usual three-game format, delighting fans with recent releases like the headlining LEGO Horizon Adventures and multiplayer heavy hitters. Notably, the Outlast trials and Neon White offer backward compatibility for PS4 owners, though the lineup skews heavily towards PS5 exclusives.

PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers get additional perks, including day one access to Skate Story in the game Catalog on December 8. However, line-ups may vary slightly by region, so it is recommended to check the PlayStation Store on launch day.

List of the Five Free Games

Having said that, the lineup unveiled by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers includes five free games. Here is the list below:

1. LEGO Horizon Adventures (PS5)

LEGO Horizon Adventures

LEGO Horizon Adventures is available on PS5. The gameplay brings a lighter take on Guerrilla’s Horizon franchise. Players are supposed to enter the world of Aloy, where they battle machines and stop an ancient digital threat. The game can be played either solo or with another player through online co-op or couch co-op on a single screen.

2. Killing Floor 3 (PS5)

Killing Floor 3

Killing Floor 3 continues the series co-op action. It includes six players teaming up against each other. The teams fight the bioengineered creatures created by the in-game megacorporation Horzine. There are certain new movement options added. This makes the gameplay more engaging and thrilling.

3. The Outlast Trials (PS4, PS5)

The Outlast Trials

The Outlast Trials is available on PS4 and PS5. It is a first-person psychological horror game. The game can be played solo or with up to three players, all others online. Players are held inside a property run by Murkoff Corporation. In order to earn the freedom, layers must complete the trail and MK challenges. Stealth is still the key part of the gameplay.

4. Synduality Echo of Ada (PS5)

Synduality Echo of Ada

The gameplay is set in 2022, after humanity is almost wiped out by the poisonous rain. The players are put in the role of a Drifter, whose role is to gather on AO Crystals on a surface that is filled with Enders, hostile weather, and rival players.

5. Neon White (PS4, PS5)

Neon White PS5

Neon White is available on both PS4 and PS5. This is a quick, action-heavy first-person game. You play as an assassin who tries to get a place in heaven. However, to get the place, you have to play against the demon slayers. Combat and movement are built around Soul Cards, which act as a weapon or depending on your ability to use these tools.

Early Reactions

Early reactions praise the variety: co-op fans for Killing Floor 3 and The Outlast Trials,  speedrunners for Neon White, and Horizon enthusiasts for the LEGO twist. Metacritic scores hover in the 68-75 range for most titles. All this signals a solid if not stellar reception.
